As the U.S. courts prepare to hear arguments over the Clean Power Plan, posts by NRDC and EDF provide an overview of the developments on clean energy across the country that are positioning states to easily meet the plan’s goals and benefit economically at the same time. They point to the fact that: power companies purchased wind power at an all-time low average of $20 per megawatt-hour on average in 2015; solar is expected to reach $1 per watt in 2020. Both posts also look at states and utilities around the nation that are moving forward on clean energy development despite the Supreme Court’s stay of the Clean Power Plan.
